Every year on September 1st the boxes come out from underneath my bed. For the last four years we have made decorating our house for Fall a family affair. The girls get so excited as they watch me lay the pieces on the couch. Then they get to decorate the main floor themselves. They run around trying out different spots for things until they get it just right. I sit back and try not to manage. Things get put in the most ridiculous spots but I let them do it. Then, after they go to bed, I rearrange things the way that would be picture worthy. I like to focus my fall decor around the things you might find in nature. Leaves, berries, pumpkins, gourds, etc.

What a sweet tradition!! I had to let my outside decorating go since my son did it for me. I tried to rearrange them but he put them right back...I guess that's where they're staying! ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat displays!!
How sweet.
ReplyDeleteMakes me think of years ago with my kids and the Christmas decorations.
Everything looks wonderful.
TFS.

So sweet that the girls help - and you let them...you're building memories and inspirations. Love your crow wreath...and that awesome chair you snagged!!! Hope you're off to a wonderful week! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful touches of fall. So simple but BIG impact. I tried the letting the kids decorate, but I am too picky and when they went outside I rearranged. LOL

Looking good girl! I really need to finish mine up today... it's scattered all over my dining room table, hehe. But catching up on blogs come first. =]
ReplyDeleteI let my kids help also. As they get older, they do get better about placement, thank goodness! We like to use naturals for fall and Christmas. I do buy some fake pieces but only if they look really close to real. Nothing beats bringing the outdoors in for a little nature inside.
