Just taking the time to enjoy the browns in my homestead and to see my "old" things in "new" way. I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun this was. I never have really taken the time to look at things so closely before and it's amazing how beautiful texture and color can be. I kept wanting to take more, and more, and more. But alas, the crazy mom who was creeping around the house taking photos of baskets and candles and chairs had to stop to cook Sunday dinner. But, I will be back. I want to try again with another color next time.

What a fun post, Steph! So many great pics but I love chocolate and quickly picked that out, dribbling all the while! lol!

Oh, my favorite color! Just call me drab and I'll be happy. ~Ann
ReplyDeleteLove your pics and of course my favourite ones have to be the fabric ones LOL..X
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Amazing ones. Few years ago, a primitive girl started a texture challenge, that was extremely fun. We have a huge group participating on it, sharing gorgeous textures in their homes. You need to invite others to make a new color challenge, may be every week linking your blog , so we can find others using the same idea. Think about it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was the bundle of fabrics.

Hi Steph,
ReplyDeleteWow, isn't is amazing, all the shades of just one color.
My favorite? Number 15. The chocolate one. :) I am a chocoholic and I've had to stay away from chocolate this month.
Halfway there. lol In a couple of weeks I am going to pig out on chocolate so much that I will regret it. :)
Have a great Friday my new friend.
Take care, Janet W
Stephanie you have such a great talent! What are you not good at?! seriously. :) these are soo much fun and honestly AMAZING. I havent really thought to stop and look at things like that. Thanks for the reminder to "stop and smell the roses" :) there is beauty all around us. 4, 7, 11 are my fav's. Well I cant say fav, cuz I really enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteSteph, I think I have something seriously wrong with me!! I'm hearing birds chirping in my head!! AHHHH, oh and I love your photos!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures but enough with the bird!! ;)
ReplyDeletetexture and color--yummy!
ReplyDeleteI love the piece that holds the back to the seat of the chair! Prim, antique perfection!
I've recently fallen in love with brown too. I've always loved it in clothing...but only recently started adding touches of it in my home! I love the pics of the chair spindles. Isn't it funny...you look at your home as a "whole"...you love it. It's warm, and welcoming..and yours. But to go around and take pics of little individual spots...that make it all those things...very cool idea! Katie
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful inspiration Steph, you've got me eying everything in my home in a new way! Love the spindles too and number 6 caught my eye. What is it? Love the bits and pieces of old label?
ReplyDelete#15... no doubt about it! =] After that I would probably go with the chair. Mainly because I just cleaned mine up and as I was wiping each spindle, I was noticing the detail. We don't stop and study the details very often, we are usually more concerned with the whole picture. Great post girl, enjoyed it! Gotta go find some chocolate now...
ReplyDeleteAll are very nice. I think #16, the suitcase, is my favorite. The fabrics are also very beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteAfter looking through all of these, I've realized that Brown may be my favorite color. "Blue" is the standard answer I give, but I started looking around my house, my wardrobe, and what I "love" and brown is in all of them. Thanks for a great post!
