Reminiscing

Today I was looking through all of my past 4th July pictures from when the kids were babies until this year.  It brought tears to my eyes to see how much they have grown.  I cry as I write, "where have my babies gone"?  The kids are all old enough that there will be no new discoveries of fireworks, parades, and such this year.  But, I am however, enjoying the fact that they can anticipate and be excited for it all. I love that they are old enough to understand the meaning behind our celebrating and can appreciate our freedom.  Oh, how thankful I am to be able to reminisce on the past and have such lovely and heartfelt memories of my little family.  I have been so blessed.
These pictures were taken last Fourth July when we spent it in Bear Lake.  "Baby" is just discovering chickens.

All dressed up in the coop.

Happy Independence Day.  May it be filled with family and memories.
I am going to now go give all my babies a big hug.
Thanks for letting me share.

  2. Hello Steph! Happy Fourth to you and your family!
Your daughter is adorable! I know what you mean, they grow to fast. As a Mother of 3 boy's I often find myself wanting them to be little again! My oldest just turned 23, then I have a 21 yr old and my youngest is 11. Sigh!
Enjoy the rest of the week.

  4. Time flies, for me too! There growing up so fast.

Happy 4th! We should have taken our vacation a week earlier. I celebrated the 4th in Chicago (in 1997, long time ago)so I know there are lot of fireworks. I've never seen a parade before. I would love to see one.

  9. Hi Stephani! I am a new follower of your blog. My mom (Angela from Thru Nana's Window) sent me over to visit your blog and I can't wait to read more. Your little one is adorable. I am right there with you this year on the "growing up" part. My little girl is 4 and has "experienced it all" this year too. It's amazing how fast they grow up! Have a happy 4th!

  11. Sweet post! Don't worry Steph....when your girls are grown up and married you will look at them and still see them as little ones--they will always be your babies! Mine are 37 and 32 and I still see them --Brian running home with his underwear on backwards (???)and Craig running through the woods with his white blond hair flashing between the trees-shaved head now (???).ANYWAY...moms always see them as they were when they were little! Enjoy the fourth with your beautiful brood!! :)--Jan

  14. Oh girl, I know just what you mean with having 3 kids of my own. It's so sad to watch them grow up but with each "new stage" of their lives, there is something more to be excited about! It's so fun to watch them grow and learn.

  15. Hi Steph!
just getting home from spending time with our kids. Son and daughter in-love came from Montana. We all met in Victor, spending time with them all filled my heart. Seeing them as adults, the paths they've chosen and the grandsons is truly a blessing. I was thinking the same thing as I watched them altogether, "where have the years gone?" They will always be my babies......even though they get embarrassed when I refer to them as such! As I've said before, enjoy every moment with your sweet girls. In the blink of an eye, they will be grown and on their own.
Wishing you and yours a safe and Happy 4th!
    Blessings~

  17. Hi Steph! They do grow up so fast. I can't have any more little ones so I've been very conscious about slowing down and enjoying all of their firsts. We still have so many memories yet to make even when they are grown :)
