I have a few projects to get underway and I was thinking that I needed to paint. I knew that I needed a primitive look and set to work trying to find something to cover my wood with. I feel like I made a really neat discovery with Milk Paint. This link will hook you up to a really neat site that gives step by step instructions on how to paint with it. I can't wait to try it. I love the way it makes the wood look. If you want to try to make it yourself I think out of all the recipes I looked at, this one at http://en.espritcabane.com/paint-recipes/milk-paint.php made the most sense to me and has good images.
