Hunting for Huckleberries and Antiques

This Labor Day weekend was a fruitful one.  Ha ha!!  No really it was.  We spent the time in beautiful Bear Lake visiting family, picking huckleberries, and I went to a local antique shop and thrift store while there.  I love visiting antique shops.  They are like a museum to me.  I have to go around each corner and each shelf and look at everything.  I have to touch just as much too:)  I try not to pass out as I look at the prices but I did find some brushes that wouldn't break the bank.  I love the paint on the handles.  At the thrift store  I found some old books that date to the 40's and some fabric that will make a cute prairie doll (eventually).

Sounds like a fun holiday, Steph!! Hmmmm....that's probably one of the only things I DON'T collect is old brushes....old brooms, yes, even old scrub brushes, but not old paint brushes! They're cool, tho!! You'll have to show us how you display them....Now old books are a whole other story! ;o) I'm not familiar with huckleberries - heard of them, but don't believe they grow around here. In any event, I've never tasted them - are they sweet or bitter? Make jams and jellies with them??? Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

The color on those paint brushes is wonderful. Can't wait to see how you display them.

Haven't had Huckleberries in years! They used to grow wild down by the river and we just gorged ourselves! Great memories. Thank you for sharing.
