Finally, Some Fun Finds

Boy, what a great vacation, but it is good to be back.  I need to sleep in my own bed:)  Upon arriving at the beach house, I was very surprised to find this in the dining room.
It was an odd place for such an item, but I really appreciated it.

We drove into a small town, Pacific City, which is just a couple of miles down the beach.  It's a great place to find little galleries or shops full of wonderful gifts.  I was very excited about the Thrift Shop/Library.  Does that tell you something about me?  I found this
wonderful dish and carried it all the way home wrapped carefully in a Pacific City newspaper.

You can't keep me away from GW for long.  I made a stop today and found some neat items.  I don't usually find much there so I was happy with what I came home with.  The only thing wrong with this candle stick is that there weren't two of them.

I am going to stain the red one and then sand it.  The black one I will paint a mustard color and then sand it.

I think a little sanding is all these babies need.

Somehow, I will turn this into a peg rack.  I have wanted one for a long time and this will be perfect when it's done.

Take care and thanks for letting me share my finds.  It's fun to share with others who can understand my excitement for such items.

Hi Steph! Glad you had a great time away, but we all know there's no place like home!
You did bring home soooo many fab bargains - the jug is a lovely color and the trays are going to be great!
Have fun!

Hi Steph,
I read the post below and what a lovely spot to spend a vacation! Nothing like the Ocean to mellow one out.

What a great bunch of goodies...I think that peg rack will look great made into something.

And from the other post below...what a darling little 'newlywed home' - funny what made us happy back then (although if I had to do it over again...I'd do it all over again the same way!)

Oh Steph - you always tickle my heart with gladness. So wish you were my next-door neighbor...we could have some fun and make some (good) trouble....Glad you had a good time away - but I, agree - one of the best things about vacations is the coming home part...love your new treasures....Have a blessed week friend! Boy that ladder sure is awesome! I would have tried to find a way to bring that baby back home with me, hehe.

Neat finds girl! Looks like you have a little work ahead of you but it will be worth it! =]

Have a blessed week~
