Sometimes Things Are Just Too Funny

I hadn't been to GW for a long time.  Shame on me I know, but I rarely find anything there.  So, when I went las week,  I was just about to give up and was on my way out when this baby caught my eye.  It was on a rolling shelf ready to be put out for sale.  I snatched it up so quick... as if there were 50 sneaky people waiting behind me to get it.
I took it home and dusted it.  The roof comes off so I can put a luminary in there if I want.  I flipped it over to take the price tag off and....

This is what was underneath.  The original tag from the gift shop who sold it.  Sometimes things are just to funny.  With my blog name being Front Porch Primitives it made me excited.  I love a good coincidence.  I am going to keep the tag on forever.  That's just the way I am.

Today and tomorrow it's going to be cold.  Our temps are plummeting into the 50's.  It was 90 degrees on Monday so that is a really big drop.  Crazy weather.  I think I will cozy up and sit by the electric stove.
What are you all doing today and tomorrow?  Hope whatever it is, you are having a good time.
Take care friends....

That really is funny!! Must be your blog's cousin! Our weather is up and down--not bad, but not real good either! I'm working toward a show now and making great headway--hopefully will finish Sunday night. Then I can paint some fun stuff for stock. I never find anything good at our GW so I seldom go anymore. However, I find GREAT stuff at the little flea near us--and cheap!! I wish you were closer--last week I saw probably 15 nice crocks and the most expensive was $50! I like your little house--you should letter your blog name over the door since it was just waiting for you to come get it!!-:)-Jan

Ha! That's a hoot! From the Back Porch to the Front Porch! I bought several of those little houses years ago (and, no, NOT at GW!), and still find room for them in my decor - I just love them. Yeah, we're taking a turn for colder too - although we haven't broken out of the 50's any time recently; but now we're supposed to be in the 20's and 30's again with that s-stuff. Please say it ain't so!! :o((( Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

Hi Steph, Love the saltbox house. A great find from Goodwill. Ours never have prim stuff, but I keep going back. It's fun to be on a hunt,,,, for what, who cares? I am getting ready for a yard sale with about 4 other families at Holly's on Saturday. Cloudy and windy here today. Storms brewing up north of us. Hope they stay there and don't move down south. Have a great day.

To funny Steph, wonder where the other two are that goes to the set? I purchased a few sets of them from a wholesaler a few years back, things to put in my booth, etc. There is a smaller green one and a mustard one, or were when I bought mine. Maybe I should get the heavy dust off mine, from being stored and bring them out again.

No blues skies today; cloudy and cool. Just got in from a bike ride with the hubby. Now we're both working on projects. I'm supposed to be making shipping labels, oh I will once I'm done reading blogs ;-)
Enjoy your day!
hugz,
Sheila

Silly me, I started reading the post w/ out first scrolling to the picture. When i rolled down and saw the picture I had to re-read the post. I seriously thought you had found a "baby" (like a doll) and was having a hard time imagining you putting a luminary in her with her "lid off". Ahh- you made my day! I love the house though, it will look great. Now where are you going to put it?

Too funny! I have a few of those houses. Kaden feels they make great houses for his matchbox cars. I am constantly telling him they are NOT toys..they are my decorations. Doesn't seem to matter though, lol! I still am finding them all over the house with a multitude of cars parked by them! As for what I'm doing today...I have had the flu...so I'm laying low. Slept until 11, need to work at 7. So just taking it easy....still in my jammies! Katie

Haha, that is awesome Steph! I think it was meant to be for you to have that house! =] I actually have an unfinished one just like it that I've had for a few years and have yet to touch. I really like how they finished this one. I need to copy it, do you mind?

Heading to a weekend scrapbook retreat Friday morning for 3 days, will definitely have a good time. =] You have a great weekend girl~

Such a cute coincidence, it was meant to be yours. I have several little houses that I set together for a village at Christmas with lights inside and a little fence with garland in front. Enjoy. ~Sara

What a cute house. And yes it was just meant to be yours.

Be kinda fun to see if there was a way to find out who made it.

Thank you for your kind comments on my blog.

Have a great weekend Steph.

The house is beautiful! And definitely meant to be with that tag! I've read about GW on different blogs. I suppose it's a thrift store? Lots of bloggers seem to find neat things there, so I'll check GW out when I'm in the US.

Can't wait!!!!!!!

I have this same house. I bought it as a set. They fit inside the one you have. Maybe the other two are waiting to be put out at GW. Mustard & hunter green are the other houses. If you go back good luck. Blessings!
