Merriment Chain ~ Day 17 ~ Pine Cone Pedestals

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
During the Fall I gathered some candle holders from GW.  I had in mind that I wanted to use them to hold some waxed and grunged pine cones for Christmas.  They smell really good, but you can't really tell they have been treated.  I usually display them in my dining room window, but I moved them to this crate for a picture.
I know I should just be enjoying each day as they come during the holidays, but seriously if we could just get this week over with I will be a lot happier.  I am such a child inside and the excitement of going to visit family and having Christmas day is just about killing me:)  At least next week I can start packing, and cleaning, and wrapping, and all the great stuff to prepare.
This chain has really given me a chance to take each day and celebrate the merriness of the holidays.  Just really what I should be doing.
Have a great day.
Hi sweet Steph, so tell me more, where do you go for Christmas? How far? How long do you stay? I am kinda like that too, get so excited for THE DAY that I forget to enjoy the moments. I am working on it. I love the candle holders and the pine cones, great idea! Have a great night. Peaceful moments to you my friend!
Hi Steph! Cute idea for the pinecones.Christmas with little ones can be a blur of activities, and tons of fun. After a very busy year, we are ready to be homebodies. Thankfully our family understands and come to us! It's time for us to hibernate and get cozy. Craig will be home in 7 days--that's where my excitement is right now! We haven't seen him since last December...although he calls virtually every week. :)---Jan
You are precious....I'm wanting to get it "over" - but for very different reasons.... :o( I so need like another month? Or maybe a complete "do-over?" And touring assisted living facilities for your mother and trying to explain (over and over) why she can't go home, just isn't making me very merry this time of year.... Love your pinecones....I waxed some many years ago (hey, maybe I was "trendy"??) - but they're VERY heavily waxed....was thinking of using them as fire starters as I don't display them anymore....Like yours much better.....I like the "natural" look....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
I agree, the chain has helped me to get Merry. I have been working a lot of hours (retail) and I am at customer service...not a lot of *merry there...:(
I really like those pinecone pedestals, great idea!
