Merriment Chain~ Day 6~ Advent Calendar

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Earlier last month I had posted a picture of this advent calendar I had found on Pinterest and said I wanted to make it for my family this year.  I finished it yesterday just by the skin of my teeth.
Each day is a pocket with a slip that contains a Christmas related activity for the family to do that night.
I will have the kids pick in the morning so they can have something to look forward to and be excited about while they are at school.  Something merry each night:)
Some of the pockets contain things that have to be done anyway, like the school program or my husband's work party.  The other activities include various things such as: stringing popcorn, singing carols, making hot chocolate, driving to look at lights, and/or  putting on a play.  This is really going to be a great thing to pull us all together in the evenings.
Last night we got to make paper advent chains and tonight we get to read a Christmas story together.
Tomorrow's slip says we get to string popcorn.  That should be a ton of fun:)
Oh, how the season is upon us.  The magical merry things Christmas brings.
Have a great day.
A Very *Merry & Bright* advent calender!!! I love how it's a large size for smaller hands and the pockets being filled with creativity for Christmas ! An extra special bonding ;0)
We had an great auntie that sent my kids advent calendars each year - filled with chocolates.. 3 children ..equaled
3xs the amount of chocolate & hype we did not need... i learned to beat them to the mail box ;0)and replace their great aunts gift with activity books
Thanks for sharing that awesome advent calendar.. I just love visiting with you Steph!
Steph, do you know what I wish? I wish every child in America could have a Mother like you and my granddaughter, Amanda. What a wonderful calendar. I think it is a new "heirloom" in your family.
Oh Steph you really have a Christmas house!!! I wish I could join you today for your story. I was thinking about putting candy in our advent calendar, but adding activities could be even more fun.
