Antique Tins See The Light Of Day

Yesterday a miracle happened!!  The cupboard was opened and dusted. I have to keep it locked or my two year old will play "kitchen" with my antiques.  My small collection of tins and boxes got to see the light of day.  I decided to snap a couple of pictures before they got put away again.  The whole thing got me wondering if other people have similar items.  It was hard to find other's displays among all the antique shop pictures but I managed to find a few.  I don't know if there are many who collect these things.  There are some really neat antique containers out there.  A couple of mine date to the mid 1930's.  I think I will have to add a few more to my mere collection.

These pieces came from my Grandmother.

Love your collection, Steph - and the photos of the other displays too. Yup - I have that addiction too - I have several old spice containers and tea containers; lots of old laundry and soap boxes, etc. for my non-existent laundry room, and a bunch of old soaps and tins waiting for my bath to be redone. I finally had to try to limit what I was collecting because I love everything - so most of my kitchen tins, etc. are baking soda cans/tins....Although, I can't resist anything that has a crow on it....or just talks to me in that little voice that says I have to bring it home!! ;o) Have a wonderful weekend! Oh, yeah! I love everything kitchen and old.
Oh, and bathroom and old.
I have lots of tins--that Gold Medal one--and lots of beautiful bottles. Old prescription bottles, Vicks, glass eye droppers, maybe a dozen old band aid tins. Again, they are reminders of my childhood. I remember when the doctor came to our house when we were sick. He left pills in a little cardboard box that he actually wrote the prescription on the box while he was there. He had a little pharmacy in his little black bag.
Maybe someday I will share my collections.
Thanks for the memories!
Many blessings,
★Linda★

I love looking for these pieces but they are usually high around here. I bought a shelf for my bathroom for old shaving items and things like Tammy's picture but nothing to go in it yet because everything is more than I want to pay, lol! So I will just keep looking, I know I will come across some good deals eventually. For me it's the thrill of the hunt that's so fun anyway. But I do have some old kitchen tins and a few laundry ones. They are fun to collect.
